About clinic
The clinic specializes in identifying the causes of pain by working with various specialists and treating various pain syndromes. Priority specializations include treatment of longstanding back pain, muscle pain and joint pain.
The Pain Care Clinic's team of physicians actively collaborates with physicians from different specialties including neurologists, psychotherapists, neurosurgeons, orthopedists, trauma specialists, rehabilitation specialists, etc., and works with oncologists developing pain relief programs for oncology patients.
Specialists at the Pain Care Center see patients on an outpatient basis, choose individualized pain medication therapy, and deliver medication directly to the site of pain.
Physicians in the departments of urgent and emergency care and anesthesiology provide around-the-clock care in the event of breakthrough pain.
In some situations, interventional methods are used to treat pain, such as injections into specific pathological focal points (pain generators), which have a destructive effect on nervous structures. For the most accurate impact on pathological focal points the physician may use different imaging techniques such as low-dose X-ray, ultrasound or computed tomography. These minimally invasive methods, due to their accuracy, are extremely valuable for the diagnosis and treatment of patients with pain syndromes. With their help we can specify or confirm a diagnosis and also deliver the effective dose of medication directly into the painful focal point; for example, injecting an anti-inflammatory drug in close proximity to a nerve root compressed by an intervertebral disc. The physician's knowledge and experience minimizes the risk of possible complications, avoids unnecessary procedures, and reduces treatment duration. The procedures are performed under local anesthesia, on an outpatient basis, are practically painless, and do not require the patient to undergo special preparation or a large number of pre-procedure tests. To decrease the risk of possible complications, all invasive procedures are performed under sterile conditions in an operating room.
The choice of treatment begins before the patient's first meeting with the physician at the Pain Care Clinic, after taking a careful history and examination and analyzing the data from X-ray and functional studies.
The team of specialists at the Pain Care Clinic is made up of experienced physicians who have completed internships in pain management in Israeli, American, and European clinics. Diagnosis and treatment uses protocols of leading European clinics.
