Graduate of the Medical Department of the First Moscow Medical Institute named after I.M.Sechenov. From 1991 to 1994 he underwent graduate training at Research Institute of Urology of Russian Ministry of Health. In 1994 he defended his thesis on the topic "The benign kidney tumor. Clinics, diagnostics and treatment". Parallel to his studies from 1990 to 1992 he worked at the Department of Urology of Clinical Hospital №7 in Moscow. In 2002 he defended his thesis for the degree of Medical Doctor on the topic "Surgical treatment of complicated venous invasion and metastatic kidney cancer." In 2007 he was awarded the title of "Professor".
Experience
Upon graduation from Medical Institute he worked as doctor in outpatient clinic of Research Institute of Urology of Russian Ministry of Health. After finishing graduate school he has been employed as surgeon at Russian Cancer Research Center named after N.N.Blokhin. From 1995 to 1997 he worked as urologist at the Royal Free Hospital, London. After working in England he received a trainee certificate of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. In May 1997 he joined the Department of Urology of Russian Cancer Research Center named after N.N.Blokhin as a researcher, and since 1999 - as a lead researcher. From February 2005 to present time he works as Head of the Department of Urology at Russian Cancer Research Center named after N.N.Blokhin of Russian Ministry of Health.
He is the author of 350 scientific papers published in Russian and foreign press, including 8 monographs, 3 textbooks and films. 22 Ph.D. theses and 1 doctoral thesis were defended under his supervision.
