Experience
Professor Fitze has been engaged in the research and treatment of sleep disorders and somnopathies in adults and adolescents for many years.
From 1993 to 2005 he was the head of the Sleep Medicine Center at the Cardiology Department of the University Clinic in Berlin.
Since 2005 - head of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Sleep Medicine at the University Clinic in Berlin.
Since 2007 - the founder of the private center for sleep medicine “Somnico GmbH” in Berlin.
The professor carries out diagnostics of sleep associated breathing disorders by applying special techniques in the sleep laboratory, which allows one to develop the most effective treatment approach in each case.
In his work, the professor pays special attention to sleep disorders that affect the development of psychosomatic diseases (for example, hypotension and hypertension, depression, etc.).
Professor Fitze specializes in the treatment of movement disorders that occur during sleep (restless legs syndrome).
Being a member of an interdisciplinary team of specialists, the professor successfully treats narcolepsy, sleep walking and teeth grinding.
