In the endoscopy department at the European Medical Center all types of diagnostic studies and endoluminal (through the endoscope, with no incisions) surgical procedures are performed.

Endoscopic examinations at EMC, which patients usually associate with discomfort, are performed under anesthesia, with the participation of anesthesiologists who use a fast-acting hypnotic agent that causes a healthy physiological sleep with no side effects. The technique of 'endoscopy while asleep' allows for a comprehensive examination and the possible bloodless removal of polyps and small tumors on an outpatient basis without hospitalization.

All endoscopic examinations are performed by experienced specialists - highly-qualified endoscopists, professors and candidates of medical sciences with the participation of experienced certified anesthesiologists.

Endoscopy is performed using the latest-model Olympus digital video endoscopes (EXERA-2 180 series and EXERA-3 190 series). The endoscopes are sterilized by a fully automated endoscope reprocessor, in accordance with international standards, ensuring complete safety with regard to the transfer of any type of infection. The endoscopic instruments used are either disposable or are sterilized in an autoclave.

The data from an endoscopic study is recorded on the computer and stored in a common archive and a photo report can be given to the patient. At the patient's request pre-study, a video report can also be made (a video of the endoscopy on CD).

Thus, all endoscopic examinations are safe, effective, and as comfortable as possible.
